Community Guidelines
Table of Contents
1. Our Values
WiamApp is built on respect, creativity, and community. We believe every voice matters and every reader deserves a safe, welcoming space to discover stories.
Our community is guided by these core values:
- Respect: Treat everyone with dignity, regardless of their background, beliefs, or creative choices.
- Creativity: Celebrate diverse storytelling and artistic expression within community guidelines.
- Safety: Prioritise the well-being of all users, especially young adults and vulnerable members.
- Integrity: Be authentic, honest, and transparent in your interactions and content.
- Growth: Support each other's development as readers, writers, and community members.
2. Content Standards
All content on WiamApp must meet these standards:
- Original Work: Only share content you have created yourself or have permission to share.
- Appropriate Rating: Content should be suitable for young adult audiences (16+). Explicit sexual content, graphic violence, or hate speech is prohibited.
- Quality Standards: Stories should be coherent, properly formatted, and free from excessive errors that impede readability.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Respect diverse cultures, beliefs, and perspectives. Avoid harmful stereotypes or cultural appropriation.
- Constructive Feedback: Comments and reviews should be helpful, respectful, and focused on the work, not personal attacks.
3. Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal and potential account suspension:
- Explicit Sexual Content: Pornography, explicit sexual descriptions, or content primarily intended for sexual arousal.
- Hate Speech: Content that attacks or demeans individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- Graphic Violence: Excessive gore, detailed violence, or content that glorifies self-harm or violence against others.
- Illegal Activities: Content promoting, depicting, or facilitating illegal acts including drug use, terrorism, or criminal activities.
- Harassment & Bullying: Content intended to harass, threaten, intimidate, or bully specific individuals.
- Privacy Violations: Sharing private information, revenge porn, or content that violates others' privacy without consent.
- Spam & Misinformation: Repetitive irrelevant content, scams, or deliberate misinformation intended to deceive or harm.
4. Interaction Rules
How you interact with others matters as much as what you create:
- Respectful Communication: No personal attacks, harassment, or abusive language in comments, reviews, or messages.
- Constructive Criticism: Feedback should help creators improve, not tear them down. Focus on the work, not the person.
- No Spoiler Abuse: Use spoiler tags appropriately. Don't deliberately ruin reading experiences for others.
- Professional Conduct: Treat WiamApp as a professional creative space. No trolling, flame wars, or disruptive behaviour.
- Boundaries: Respect creators' boundaries and stated preferences. Don't pressure creators for content they're uncomfortable producing.
5. Creator Responsibilities
Creators have additional responsibilities due to their influence on readers and community:
- Content Warnings: Appropriately tag potentially sensitive content (triggers, mature themes, etc.) so readers can make informed choices.
- Regular Updates: Maintain consistent posting schedules or communicate clearly about delays. Abandoned stories should be marked as such.
- Community Engagement: Respond respectfully to reader feedback, moderate your own story comments, and foster positive community around your work.
- Copyright Respect: Only use content you have rights to. Properly credit any sources, inspirations, or referenced works.
- Platform Guidelines: Follow all WiamApp rules, monetisation policies, and content standards.
6. Reader Responsibilities
Readers help maintain community health through their engagement and support:
- Respect Creation Time: Understand that stories take effort. Provide constructive feedback rather than harsh criticism.
- Fair Reviews: Rate stories based on actual content quality, not personal biases or external factors.
- Support System: Use official channels to report issues. Don't engage in public call-outs or harassment.
- Creator Boundaries: Respect creators' stated limits, content warnings, and personal boundaries.
- Genuine Engagement: Participate authentically in discussions. Don't manipulate ratings, engagement, or community features.
7. Privacy & Respect
Privacy and mutual respect are fundamental to our community:
- Personal Information: Never share others' private information without explicit consent.
- Consent: Ask permission before sharing private conversations, screenshots, or personal details.
- Boundaries: Respect others' comfort levels with personal questions or discussions.
- Anonymous Reporting: Use official reporting tools rather than public shaming or call-outs.
