1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account on, accessing, or using WiamApp (the "Platform"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and WiamLabs ("we", "us", "our"), the company that owns and operates WiamApp.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
2.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years of age to use WiamApp. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. Users under 13 are strictly prohibited from using the Platform.
2.2 Account Responsibility
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate and truthful information during registration.
- You must not share your login credentials with any third party.
- You must notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
2.3 One Account Per Person
Each individual may only maintain one active WiamApp account. Creating multiple accounts to evade enforcement actions, inflate metrics, or deceive other users is a serious violation that will result in the permanent suspension of all associated accounts.
2.4 Account Security
We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your account, including encrypted passwords and secure session management. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and using a strong, unique password.
3. User-Generated Content
3.1 Ownership
Creators retain full ownership and copyright of their original works published on WiamApp. By publishing content, you grant WiamLabs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, cache, and promote your content within the Platform and its marketing channels.
3.2 Content Standards
All content published on WiamApp — including stories, chapters, titles, descriptions, comments, bios, usernames, and profile information — must comply with our community standards:
- Originality: Content must be your own original work. Plagiarism of any kind is strictly prohibited.
- Legality: Content must not promote, depict, or facilitate any illegal activity.
- Respect: Content must not contain hate speech, discriminatory language, harassment, threats, or personal attacks against any individual or group.
- Safety: Content must not promote self-harm, suicide, dangerous challenges, or real-world violence.
- Minors: Any sexual content involving minors — real or fictional — is absolutely prohibited and will result in immediate permanent suspension and may be reported to law enforcement.
- Spam: Content must not be spam, scam links, unsolicited advertisements, or promotional material for external services.
3.3 Creative Freedom
WiamApp supports creative expression. Stories may explore mature themes, complex characters, and difficult subjects as part of legitimate fiction. Our content standards apply to the intent and context of content, not to the mere presence of specific words in a fictional narrative.
3.4 Removal of Content
WiamApp reserves the right to remove, hide, or restrict access to any content that violates these Terms or our community standards, at our sole discretion, with or without prior notice.
4. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to engage in any of the following activities on the Platform:
- Harassing, bullying, stalking, intimidating, or threatening other users
- Impersonating any person, including WiamApp staff, creators, or public figures
- Doxxing — sharing another person's private or identifying information without consent
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or platform systems
- Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Platform (unless authorised)
- Scraping, copying, or redistributing content from WiamApp without explicit permission
- Manipulating engagement metrics such as views, ratings, favourites, or follower counts
- Creating fake accounts, sockpuppet accounts, or evading previous bans
- Uploading malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt the Platform
- Soliciting personal information from minors
- Using the Platform for money laundering, fraud, or any financial crime
5. Content Moderation
WiamApp employs a multi-layered content review system to ensure the safety and quality of our platform. Our moderation process includes:
- Automated Screening: All user-submitted content — including comments, bios, usernames, book titles, and descriptions — is automatically screened against our community guidelines before publication.
- Pattern Detection: Our systems detect prohibited language patterns, spam, scam links, and content that violates our standards.
- Community Reports: Users can report content or behaviour they believe violates our Terms. Reports are reviewed and acted upon promptly.
- Editorial Review: Published stories undergo a quality and compliance review to maintain platform standards.
If you believe content was moderated in error, you may appeal by contacting us through the Feedback page. Appeals are reviewed by our team and responded to within a reasonable timeframe.
6. Warnings, Strikes & Bans
WiamApp uses a progressive enforcement system to address violations of these Terms. The severity of the enforcement action depends on the nature and frequency of the violation.
6.1 Enforcement Levels
| Level | Action | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Notice | Informational | A gentle reminder about community guidelines. No penalty applied. |
| Warning | Formal Warning | Documented warning on your account. Content may be removed. |
| Strike | Serious Violation | Recorded strike on your account. Repeated strikes lead to suspension. |
6.2 Progressive Enforcement
Our enforcement system escalates automatically based on your violation history:
- First offence: Notice — informational warning, no penalty.
- Second offence: Formal Warning — documented on your account record.
- Third offence and beyond: Strike — serious enforcement action recorded.
6.3 Immediate Suspension
Some violations are severe enough to warrant immediate account suspension without prior warnings. These include but are not limited to:
- Any content involving the sexual exploitation of minors
- Credible threats of violence against any person or group
- Doxxing or sharing private personal information to cause harm
- Impersonation of WiamApp staff or official accounts
- Attempting to compromise platform security or other users' accounts
- Creating accounts to evade a previous ban
6.4 Effects of Suspension
When an account is suspended:
- All access to the Platform is revoked immediately.
- Published content may be hidden or removed at our discretion.
- Any pending creator payouts may be withheld or forfeited.
- Wiam Coin balances are non-refundable upon suspension for Terms violations.
- The user may not create new accounts on the Platform.
6.5 Appeals
If you believe your account was suspended in error, you may submit an appeal by emailing us or using the contact methods listed in Section 17. Appeals are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and decisions are final.
7. Blocking & Reporting
7.1 Blocking Users
You may block other users at any time. Blocked users will not be able to view your profile, follow you, comment on your stories, or interact with your content in any way.
7.2 Reporting Violations
If you encounter content or behaviour that violates these Terms, you are encouraged to report it immediately using the in-app reporting tools. All reports are confidential — the reported user will not be informed of who submitted the report.
Reports are reviewed based on severity. Content that receives multiple reports may be automatically flagged or hidden pending review. False or malicious reporting is itself a violation of these Terms and may result in enforcement action against the reporter.
8. Wiam Coins & Payments
8.1 Virtual Currency
Wiam Coins are a virtual currency used exclusively within WiamApp for tipping creators and unlocking premium chapters. Coins have no real-world monetary value outside the Platform and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash except through the official Creator Payout programme.
8.2 Purchases
- Coin purchases are processed securely through Paystack.
- All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
- Prices are displayed in Ghana Cedis (GHS) and may vary by region in the future.
- WiamApp is not responsible for failed transactions due to insufficient funds, network issues, or payment provider errors.
8.3 Coin Expiry
Purchased Wiam Coins do not expire as long as your account remains in good standing. Coins may be forfeited if your account is suspended for Terms violations.
9. Creator Monetisation
9.1 Eligibility
Not all creators are eligible for monetisation. To qualify, creators must meet specific requirements including minimum account age, published chapters, reader engagement, and a clean violation record. Full eligibility criteria are displayed in the Creator Dashboard.
9.2 Revenue Split
When readers spend Wiam Coins on premium chapters or tips, the revenue is split between the creator and WiamApp. The current split is 50% to the creator and 50% to the platform. WiamApp reserves the right to adjust this split with prior notice.
9.3 Payouts
- Creator payouts are processed monthly via mobile money (MTN MoMo, Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo Money) through Paystack.
- The minimum payout threshold is 10 GHS.
- Creators must have a valid mobile money number linked to their account.
- Payouts may be withheld if the creator's account has pending violations or is under review.
9.4 Free Chapters
The first 10 chapters of every story must remain free. Creators may only lock chapters beyond this threshold, and only if they meet full monetisation eligibility.
10. WiamElite Programme
WiamElite is WiamApp's hall of fame — a prestigious recognition for the highest-quality stories on the platform. Promotion to and demotion from WiamElite is determined entirely by algorithmic evaluation of story performance metrics including reader engagement, ratings, completion rates, and community standing.
- WiamApp does not guarantee Elite status for any story.
- Elite status can be revoked if a story's performance declines or if the creator violates these Terms.
- No payment, sponsorship, or external influence can affect Elite selection.
11. Intellectual Property
11.1 Platform IP
The WiamApp name, logo, brand identity, user interface design, and all proprietary technology are the exclusive intellectual property of WiamLabs. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any WiamApp branding without prior written permission.
11.2 Copyright Infringement
We respect intellectual property rights and expect our users to do the same. If you believe your copyrighted work has been published on WiamApp without authorisation, please contact us with details of the alleged infringement. We will investigate and take appropriate action, which may include removing the content and issuing enforcement actions against the infringing user.
12. Privacy & Data
Your use of WiamApp is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
13.1 "As Is" Service
WiamApp is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
13.2 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WiamLabs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of anticipated earnings.
13.3 User Content Disclaimer
WiamApp is a platform for user-generated content. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, quality, or legality of any content published by users. You interact with user content at your own risk.
14. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by using the account deletion feature in your settings. WiamApp may also terminate or suspend your access to the Platform at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to violations of these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
15. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ghana.
Before initiating any legal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us through the channels listed in Section 17.
16. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify users through in-app notifications and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of WiamApp after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
We encourage you to review these Terms periodically to stay informed about your rights and obligations.
