Between the Seventh Breath
Synopsis
When Elara’s soul slips from her body in the middle of an ordinary night, she believes she will return before morning. She does not. Declared dead, sealed in cold metal, and forced into a seven-day spiritual corridor governed by unseen laws, Elara learns that death is not an ending — it is a narrowing. Every attempt to interfere with the living weakens her structure. Every act of stabilization shapes her alignment. Something watches. Something measures.
Author's Note
There is a moment the world does not teach you about. It is not life. It is not death. It is the space between the final inhale and whatever follows. Some pass through it unnoticed. Some do not. This story is about what happens when a soul refuses to dissolve quietly — and what it costs when the system refuses to let it return unchanged. Copyright © 2026 by WiaM All rights reserved.
